Lawyers are constantly called on to transform an elaborate set of complex, conflicting facts and laws into a cohesive, compelling narrative arranged along a single line. To succeed, they must produce finely crafted documents that leave no room for doubt or confusion.

I help lawyers to do just that. I am a graduate of Stanford Law School and a member of the State Bar of California. I am both analytical and creative, a person whose command of language and logic has made me a powerful and persuasive storyteller. I’m also very good at helping people find their voice and adept at helping lawyers to fine-tune their arguments and their prose. In essence, I take my skills as a Stanford-trained lawyer and an award-winning writer and use those skills to help lawyers ensure that the writing they produce is clear, compelling and of the highest caliber. I can assist at every stage in the process: strategizing, outlining, drafting, and refining. Lawyers who draw on the expertise of an editor free themselves to focus on their strengths, which are then magnified by strong, convincing writing. The end result is finer work that benefits the clients and, ultimately, the lawyers themselves.

For more on editing in the legal field, I've included a link to a 2016 article from Bloomberg on a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist I used to edit, Jesse Katz, who was hired as the in-house editor of O’Melveny & Myers. To read the piece on Jesse and his value to OMM, click here. “I don’t think there is a piece of writing that can’t be improved by a solid editor, including my own,” notes Brad Butwin, chair of OMM, in the article. “There is no ego in being edited. Ultimately, we think we have a stronger product for our clients, for less time and less money.”
